About me
I was born in the late 1960s in Athens and grew up in Marousi.
My childhood dream was to become a nuclear physicist! In the end I became an electronics engineer. There was, of course, only one thing I detested: computers. So, naturally, I became… a programmer and data-processing specialist!
As a programmer, I wrote code for hours on end, days, to be precise, and everything was in its proper order, just as it should be, until… one day, one night, to be accurate, I used my keyboard to write something different.
I made up a story inspired by my everyday life. I shared it with a few acquaintances and some strangers too, for you see, in its infancy the internet in Greece was nothing, absolutely nothing, like what we enjoy today! The comments I received were especially flattering about my way of writing, and so I decided that, at some point in the future, I would do it again.
I kept one half of that promise. I wrote again. But I preferred to keep it for myself and for only a few people very dear to me, countable on the fingers of one hand, maybe one and a half! Every so often I would devoutly repeat the endeavour, and I always received encouragement to take up writing more “warmly”. That is what the people close to me wanted.
A few years ago, a dear friend asked my permission to share a piece of my writing with a “bookworm”, as she described a friend of hers, which at first frightened me, any way you look at it!
At our next meeting she told me, thrilled, that her friend’s question had been: why don’t I write books, instead of busying myself with anything else? So it seems that some other people wanted this too, people who were not especially close to me!
A few months ago I decided to gather all my writings and begin to publish them (in the good sense of the word!). To start, a mystery novel, and right after it a collection of short stories. And there is more to come.
And I truly feel that now is the time for it to happen, because this time, I want it too!
